A week in...London (continued)

The rest of the week in London, we visited some must-see spots - the Tate Britain, Westminster Abbey.

Below is the courtyard of Westminster Abbey - as expected, we didn't have a single bit of sun the whole time we were there.

Unfortunately most of these places didn't allow pictures inside...Westminister Abbey had amazing memorials for all of the individuals buried there, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Shakespeare, Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin - the list goes on and on. it was a great history lesson and a reminder of how much Britain has contributed to the world.

This was the memorial for Edmond Haley, most were creative like this.

Outside of the Churchill Bunker - our history museum for the week -

The next day was the Tower of London and St. Paul's.

In addition to the ravens and the crown jewels, the tower is a history museum both because of what is kept there and how it was used through out time.

The Tower was really interesting and we didn't even take the proper tour - next time.

No pictures from inside St. Paul's but the view from the dome was awesome.

you can just see the Occupy Protest tents in the middle of the picture...

Final stop for the day was the British Museum, but we didn't last too long - just saw the highlights because we were really tired.

no tripods allowed here but you still get the idea

We also visited Notting Hill, where Wes found some tools - can't imagine why there's not pictures, I guess I got tired of carrying the camera. =) We had a nice New Year's Dinner and then chased some Sunday roast at an out of the way place that Wes found - totally worth it!

Thanks again to Lindsey & Justin for letting us use their place!

Next up - is the Czech adventure...
